My car is driven about 5 miles per week, how often should I get an oil change?

I have a 1999 Dodge Durango. In the last 4 months, I have driven less than 200 miles. It seems silly to get an oil change every 3 months, but I will if its necessary. I start drive it about 3 times a week just to keep the battery charged ect, but I never drive more than 5 miles at a time. Please let me know how often the oil should be changed.

ThanksMy car is driven about 5 miles per week, how often should I get an oil change?Every 3000 miles, I am in the same situation .. I barely use my car. But every 3000 does the trick for me. Along with an occassional oil change =)My car is driven about 5 miles per week, how often should I get an oil change?I would change it every six months. My car is driven about 5 miles per week, how often should I get an oil change?I would say 6 months as well. Make sure you do the filter as well. Might be able to get a year out of it with synthetic, just because it doesn't build up condensation as badly. My car is driven about 5 miles per week, how often should I get an oil change?Five miles at a time isn't enough to charge the battery, or properly warm up the engine and transmission to burn off acids and contaminants in the oil and coolant and to get the lubricants flowing where they need to flow. A car needs to be run up to full operating temperature for at least 30 minutes at least once or twice per month. Otherwise, internal parts will suffer from lack of lubricant, and seals will start drying out, and the car will just go to pot.
