How often should you change your engine oil?

the 3,000 mile oil change is a myth/scam now a days i've notice that they recommend going longer without an oil change

is 5,000 to 6,000 miles okHow often should you change your engine oil?actually u can go about 5,000 miles. I have an older model 99 so i just keep mine changed every 3 mos. period... But your owner manual more than likely will say 5,000. It doesnt hurt to change it at 3,000 though. How often should you change your engine oil?yea 6,000 miles is bang on, i have run all my cars over the last 30 years on this basis with no engine failure in fact vw/ audi are using special oil that stays in for up to 18.000miles although i would not recommend thatHow often should you change your engine oil?5,000 to 6,000 is fine with regular motor oil and if you use fully synthetic motor oil, you can usually get 10,000 between oil changes. How often should you change your engine oil?5-6k is fine. I do 3k just because i love my car. Not because i think i have to.How often should you change your engine oil?Surely it tells you in the manual for your car. Doesn't it?

Some cars 10k, some (VW diesel for example) 30k.
