I drive a 2003 VW Passat. This is the oil I used when I had my oil changed last. The place I got my oil changed at said it would last for 10,000 miles, but I didn't know whether that was true or not. Any kind of Refference that anybody could find would put me at ease. Oil is hydroscopic and absorbs water, the properties of the oil change with stress and time and unless you are getting some hot oil temperatures and racing around, I would change it every 6 months. I'm sure waiting till 10k won't hurt it... but changing it more often is usually a good idea.
