How long should you go without getting an oil change in your car?

First off I know I should get my oil changed every 3,000 miles. What I want to know is if it will mess up your car if you go too long without getting the oil changed although you check the oil and keep it filled to the right amount. How long should you go without getting an oil change in your car?Yes it will mess up your car... over time the oil will %26quot;break down%26quot; causing it to loose it's lubricity... it keeps getting thinner, and thinner, and well as circulating debris, and contaminates.

Not changing your oil... leads to massive amounts of Sludge!

Just change your oil as recommended... or as close to it as you can.
